Research
The department of biotechnology was established in Dec.,1987. The department
acquired infrastructure and other facilities for teaching and research
with the financial assistance in the shape of research projects from agencies
such as Department of Biotechnology, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of
India, World Bank Govt. of HP, ICAR, ICFRE, DRDO etc. The M.Sc. program was
started in 1991 and Ph.D. program in 1996. Presently there are 50 M.Sc. and 17
PhD students on rolls. The Department also offers courses to the undergraduate
students of Horticulture and Forestry.
