Minimum Qualification
Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% marks in case of SC/ ST/ Physically Challenged category candidates/ in-service nominees of Himachal Pradesh Government) in the above subjects.
OR
Candidate should have passed Examination of a University/ Board/ College/ School in a foreign country recognized by the Academic Council as equivalent to 10+2 with science subjects mentioned above provided the candidate has obtained at least 60% aggregate marks or ‘B’ grade/equivalent.
Reservation of Seats
Admission shall be open to all eligible candidates subject to the reservation of seats as under:

Basis of Admission
Normal Seat:TThe marks obtained in entrance test will be considered for admission to Undergraduate Programmes of this University. The syllabus for the entrance test is given in annexure-I of the Prospectus. The candidates having secured less than 45 marks in the entrance test shall not be considered for appearing in the Counselling Process. In case two or more candidates obtain the same marks, the candidate with highest percentage at qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 level shall be considered for admission. In case tie still occurs, the elder in age will be considered for admission.
The marks obtained at 10+2 level in four subjects viz., English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics will be considered for admission to Undergraduate Programmes of this University. In case two or more candidates obtain the same marks, the elder in age will be considered for admission.
Eligibility criteria will be the same as for other candidates of normal seats, applying for Undergraduate degree programmes. The merit of candidates shall be determined on the basis of aggregate score in different sports and co-curricular activities during last four academic years (upto 31st July of the concerned year) as per weightage of different activities given in the Table given hereunder. Only one sports and co-curricular activity certificate which is most beneficial to the candidate (highest score) per year will be considered.
If the candidates having equal aggregate score under sports category, a candidate with higher marks obtained in the entrance test (Not less than 45 marks) shall be placed in higher merit list. In case two or more candidates obtain the same marks, the candidate with highest percentage of marks in qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 level shall be considered for admission. In case tie still occurs, the candidate elder in age will be considered for admission.

All sports / games/ cultural/ extra-curricular activities recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/ Indian Agricultural University Association (IAUA)/ ICAR/ Government of Himachal Pradesh will only be recognized by the Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry. No sports/ cultural activities organized by NGOs (Government/ Non-government) will be entertained.

Normal Seats
The merit list of candidates shall be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in UGET-2023 shall be drawn. No candidate having secured less than 45 marks in the entrance test (UGET-2023) shall be included in the merit list for Counselling Process.
Self-financing Seats
The merit list of candidates shall be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 in four subjects viz., English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics shall be drawn.
