In order to achieve the objectives, the KVK has to carry out activities as under in order to fulfil its mandate:
Krishi Vigyan Kendra Shimla at Rohru is located at Karalash which is about 120 Km away from Shimla town. Shimla district, which is the operational area of the Kendra, lies in the outer and lower Himalayas between 310 45' latitude and 77-780 25' longitudes. The altitudes of the district varies 2500 to 16000 feet, the lowest and highest points being the Sunni Tehsil and Chansal pass respectively. The hills and mountainous ranges are generally aligned in the east- west direction which presents a complicated pattern of relief. The predominantly rough terrain, the prevalence of interlocking spurs, narrow and steep side’s valleys throughout the district, reflect the youthfulness of its topography.
