Registrar

Registrar is a chief administrative officer of the University. He is appointed by the State Government amongst the officers who have put in atleast five years of Indian Administrative services or nine years services in HP Administrative services. He is responsible to assist all matters of general administration with Vice-Chancellor, compilation of Annual Report and all correspondence regarding Senate, Board and Academic Council. He is responsible for all academic matters like admission/registration of students, maintenance of their records, degree, issuance of semester reports and transcripts. He is responsible for making appointments of category “C” and “D” staff in the University. He is the ex-officio Member-Secretary of the Senate, Board of Management and Academic Council of the University. Besides, he also perform other duties and functions as assigned to him by the Vice Chancellor. There are following branches in the Registrar’s Office:
i) General Administrative Branch
ii) Academic Branch
iii) Establishment Branch
iv)Recruitment Branch
v)Legal Cell

General Administrative Branch

This branch is involved in overall Administration and Management of the entire University including outstations and KVKs. The branch conducts the meeting of the Senate and Board of Management from time to time. The follow up action on the decisions of the Senate and Board of Management is also taken up by this branch. The questions raised in the sessions of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha as well as State Legislative Assembly are also compiled and transmitted to the concerned quarters by the branch. The various meetings with regard to make necessary arrangements for the celebration of various functions and other meetings taking place in the University are made/organized by this branch. It is also a liaisoning branch with District Administration and other institutions as well as for the visiting VVIP/VIP and guests etc. The implementation of Government Policies/directions, rules related various other matters are looked into by this branch. Apart from the above, all types of financial matters i.e. day to day expenditure of the office of the Registrar falls under the purview of this branch.

Academic Branch

  • The distinguished Academic section, nestled within the Registrar's office, assumes the responsibility of overseeing the whole journey of student from the time of application for admission to convocation where degree is conferred upon. Among its key responsibilities, the Academic Section issues the Prospectus for Academic Programmes, containing crucial information about the courses offered, admission procedures, the registration process, ensuring their enrolment in their chosen academic programs as such 1st Phase of an individual from Candidate to Student Completes
  • During the process, the Section conducts counselling sessions to guide students in making informed decisions about their academic choices and selection of academic programme.
  • The Academic Section prepares and issues semester reports, providing students with an overview of their academic performance and progress in the previous Semester which ultimately helps planning and progression of a student for completion of degree.
  • It oversees the process of issuing PDC, Migration Certificates Transcripts of Academic Records and other related testimonials, enabling students to get their academic records.
  • The Academic Section makes arrangements for the Convocation ceremony, facilitating conferment of  degrees, along with various gold medals

The Academic Section ensures the smooth functioning of academic processes, supporting students in their educational pursuits and contributing to the overall administration of the Academic programme, implementation of latest course curriculum leading to success of this University in discharge of its integral duty of imparting latest education and providing fully trained manpower to the Society.

Establishment Branch

Establishment branch maintains the service record of all the officers/officials working in the University. This branch deals with the matter related to transfer/posting, promotion, probation, seniority, retirement, premature/ voluntary retirement, salary adjustment, disciplinary/departmental proceeding, and suspension cases etc of University employees. It also deals with the matters related to declaration of HODs, annual/advance increments, issuance of NOC and permissions for various purposes, leave cases, RTI and other related matters.

Recruitment Branch

This branch deals with all types of recruitments in the University. This branch issue the appointments orders of all staff i.e. Category ”A” to Category “D” including appointments on compassionate grounds. It deals with the recruitment and promotion related policy matters, regularization of contractual employees, maintenance of reservation roster etc. This branch also deals with the RTI applications related with the recruitment.
