Extension Activities

Salient Achievements

Training and Extension programmes:

  • The scientists of the research station actively participate in extension activities like farmer’s training programmes, melas, exhibitions, workshops and seminars. Special courses, refresher courses and diagnostic team visits are also organized from time to time.

Vocational Training Course on Horticultural Management

  • Every year 20 students from rural background are selected for imparting one year training on various aspects of temperate fruit production and floriculture for self employment.
  • The scientists of the station are actively involved in transfer of technology through mass communication media like Doordarshan and All India Radio.

Field days/crop days

  • To popularize the developed technologies exhibitions/ field days are organized at main station, block level, village level and state level fairs.

  • Farmer’s Scientist interactions are being conducted at village level.

  • Advisories are given to farmers visiting the station/telephonically/Facebook Live programmes/Whatsapp during the year.
